It will melt if you try to iron it. It's a soft plastic type material but it does retain the fold marks when taken out of the package which I would assume is normal. I used my blow dryer on it at the medium setting and the folds came right out. It's really a very pretty shower curtain and I'm glad I bought it.2)Question:  Can you wash this in the washing machine?Answer:  Many of our customers have had success washing it on gentle in cold water in the washing machine, although we recommend wiping it down periodically with a damp sponge and a mild soap.
